The Death of Flibusta's Founder and Euthanasia Questions

The death of the founder of Flibusta through euthanasia raises questions about assisted suicide and its ethical aspects.

The death of the founder of Flibusta (a well-known piracy project) through euthanasia raises many questions about assisted suicide: ethical aspects, technical nuances, and the limits of what is acceptable.

Interestingly, people have been contemplating euthanasia since the times of Ancient Greece. Today, many countries have legalized this practice in one form or another, but always with a number of strict limitations.

Wherever euthanasia is permitted, the key elements remain the transparency of the process and the explicit consent of the patient.

Thinking about this on a personal level, for me, the decision to "press the button" seems extremely frightening. However, the idea of "probabilistic euthanasia" is perceived as a softer option. The essence is that a person receives a dose of sleeping pills every evening, and although death is guaranteed to occur within the next X months, the exact day is unknown. Before each dose, the patient confirms their readiness. Surprisingly, there is no such approach in any country.

What do you think about this idea? Do you believe that such an approach could be psychologically easier?
