While in the US, this is likely just the beginning...

"Uber has launched its own credit card in partnership with Visa and Barclays.

Users can order the card in the US starting November 2 through the Uber app and the company's website. The decision on credit issuance takes just a few minutes. Users can immediately start using the card in the Uber and UberEats apps. The plastic card will arrive by mail in about a week.

The interest rate is 15.99%, 21.74%, or 24.74% depending on the risks the company sees in granting credit to a specific user. The card service is free.

Bonuses: after spending $500 on the card, users will receive an additional $100. Cashback is 4% on spending at restaurants and bars, 3% on airline tickets and short-term rentals in hotels and Airbnb, 2% on online purchases, and 1% on everything else.

Smartphone insurance is provided in exchange for Uber receiving information about the user's mobile operator and transactions. Uber promises not to sell this data to third-party companies." Read more
