Not long ago, I came across the Advanced Data Analysis feature provided by OpenAI. For those who are not in the know, this is more than just a tool for data analysis.
How does it work? Your data is processed on the company's servers using gpt-4. And this model can not only write code but also execute it. And while this may seem technical, the results can be astonishing.
What I liked:
- Automation of working with Excel spreadsheets - filtering, forecasting.
- Data conversion between formats.
- Generation of additional data.
- Building and interpreting graphs.
- Ability to work with media files (though I haven't used this much yet).
Imagine: I have customer data. I ask the model questions, and it quickly provides answers. The most surprising thing is how the model can suggest different ways to analyze or approximate the data.
However, there are downsides. The model sometimes interprets requests in its own way, and you need to double-check the results. There are certain nuances to pay attention to in order to get the best results.
For those who want to try it out: the feature is available in OpenAI settings. Go to Settings & Beta, then select Beta features and activate "Advanced data analysis". Note: this feature is only available for paid OpenAI Plus users.
But in the end? For me, this is a real revolution in analytics. What used to take hours in Excel or Python can now be done in minutes.
