🚀 Anthropic has filed a confidential S-1 with the SEC - the first step towards an IPO targeted for the fourth quarter.
This follows a $65 billion round at a $900 billion valuation - marking the first time Anthropic has surpassed OpenAI in capitalization. The current revenue run-rate is $47 billion, compared to $9 billion by the end of 2025. For a sense of pace: $87 million in January 2024, $1 billion by December 2024, $14 billion in February 2026, $30 billion in April.
Rumor has it that OpenAI is also preparing a confidential S-1 aiming for the same Q4. It looks like we might witness two of the most high-profile tech IPOs of the decade back-to-back this fall.
