🧠 Anthropic has integrated Claude directly into Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Now, these files feature a sidebar with Claude—it sees the open document, understands the context, and edits it on the spot without copying text back and forth. Edits are recorded in the version history under your name, as if you edited it yourself.
By default, Claude shows what it plans to do and waits for confirmation for each action. There is an "accept all edits" mode—regular edits are processed automatically, but inserting links, external images, or changing file access still requires confirmation. Sharing files, creating menus, or opening arbitrary pages is not possible for Claude.
It only works with the open file—there is no access to the rest of Drive, each operation is limited to six minutes, and Firefox is not supported. Available in beta on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise.
