After the launch of Claude Code, the team noticed that people were using it not just for coding. They planned vacations, created presentations, cleaned their emails, recovered photos from hard drives, monitored plant growth, and even controlled ovens.
Today, Anthropic introduced Cowork - Claude Code for non-technical tasks. The product is raw, just like Claude Code was at launch, but that’s the essence of a research preview.
Built-in VM for isolation, browser automation, integration with data connectors, a clarification system when the AI is unsure. As Boris Cherny says: "the basic Claude Agent is the best agent, and Opus 4.5 is the best model."
Available for Claude Max in the macOS app.
