Guys from UC San Diego launched an interesting research game โ you chat simultaneously with a human and AI and try to figure out who is who. This is the classic Turing test.

Surprisingly, ChatGPT (GPT-4.5) managed to pass this test. In a format where it played the role of an introverted teenager familiar with internet culture, it was mistaken for a human 73% of the time โ more often than a real person! This is the first time AI has beaten a human in such a three-way version of the test.

The rules are simple: you have 5 minutes to chat with two interlocutors, after which you need to decide who among them is human. Spoiler โ itโs not as easy as it seems.

By the way, in my childhood, I thought that as soon as AI passes the Turing test โ it would be the end of the world. Well, the moment has come, but so far it seems we are still living.
