Cool Lecture by Alexander Auza: "Why Culture Matters to the Economy"

Youtube (thanks AI) suggested a really cool lecture on questions that have been bothering me for a long time - why does culture exist in the modern world, why do some people "spend" their time and efforts on theaters/books/art, how does all this affect the economy, and should the state "support" artists.

The lecture has a lot of great thoughts, here are a few that I remembered:
1. Definition of culture - values and behavioral attitudes that change slowly (important!) over time. In other words, culture ultimately defines what is "normal" in a given society, and this cannot change quickly.
2. A series of experiments. For example, an interesting experiment conducted in different countries where three participants are presented. One allows cheating, another cheats, and the third tells the teacher about it. Then society is surveyed on the subject of condemnation. For instance, in Russia and the USA, they condemn the one who cheats, but in Russia, it's a little, while in the USA, it's a lot. At the same time, the one who "snitched" is also under condemnation, but in the USA, it's a little (as they fought for the truth), while in Russia, it's a lot. As someone who has lived both here and there, I see how this mentality shapes life (and as a result, the economy).
3. Reflections on what is primary: economy or culture (institutions and rules).

In general, I recommend it.
