Debate on Wearing Hijabs and Scarves

A debate on wearing hijabs and scarves: youth don't want to wear them, but religion demands it.

I've come across yet another debate regarding the wearing of hijabs and scarves in certain cultures. Apparently, there is a shift happening where the youth do not want to wear them, as it’s “not fashionable,” but religion demands it.

According to the mufti, a girl in a scarf looks much more beautiful, and parents should convince their children of this. Moreover, going without a headscarf is harmful to health. “You ask why the elders do not teach the children? When a mother tells her daughter to wear a scarf, she replies that it’s not fashionable, and the main thing is to have a nice hairstyle. But this primarily harms health. And it’s the same with Orthodox Christians. When a woman went out without a scarf, they said she was being careless.”

And it’s true, Orthodox women also used to wear scarves, but now only in churches, not on the streets.

I have this feeling: my grandmother wore one, but my mother does not.

What about you? At what moment did the “revolution” happen?

By the way, here are photos from the following years: 1917, World War II, 1952, 1961 - all with scarves.
