Google Cuts Funding for SayCan Project

Google has cut 90% of the funding for its Robotics project SayCan, which is sad but understandable.

They say that in the wave of popularity of LLMs and current HR trends, Google has cut 90% of the funding for its Robotics project SayCan. This is very sad, but understandable: hardware is always orders of magnitude more complex both in production and scaling compared to software. And if a robot, into which billions need to be invested, is supposed to replace a worker earning $10/hour, it’s really unclear what the scale should be for it to pay off 🙁

It seems the future is being postponed a bit.
