🎙 Held a webinar 'How to Befriend AI with a Task List (using Claude Code and Todoist as examples)'.
We discussed what an AI agent consists of—model, context, tools, and channels—and why a task list can be a convenient channel for working with it. Then I demonstrated my integration of Todoist and Claude Code live.
A few thoughts:
• The agent doesn't care where the task comes from: app, Telegram, email, or schedule. A task manager is convenient because tasks are already recorded there, with date and context—any can be passed to the agent and taken back.
• Experiment: I asked Claude to go through a backlog of 60–100 tasks and do everything possible without me. Without questions, he could only close overdue ones. So the mode is mixed: we start together, discuss in comments, the agent finishes, I check.
• The integration was written by Claude Code himself: a small program through MCP Todoist searches for tasks with the agent's label. Comments are correspondence with the agent, labels are status, and three filters show what's waiting for me, what's in progress, and what's ready for review.
• No critical action—email, push to production—is performed without my 'yes'. Even the reminder for this webinar was written by the agent, but I sent it.
• Against hallucinations—more context and small tasks. Working with the agent is increasingly like working with an intern.
• Security is built in layers: rules, external monitoring, and agent self-control. The latter is the most unreliable, so all three are needed.
In the discussion:
• Nikolay Bogatyrev showed a similar integration on TickTick: tasks synchronize every 15 minutes and receive context from his small wiki.
• Jin Kolesnikov suggested an exercise: code a clone of a service you're subscribed to in a day, live with it for a month, and compare.
