<p>If you, like me, are annoyed by Canvas, it turns out you can disable it for all new chats in Customize ChatGPT.</p>
<p>Reasons why it annoys me:</p>
<ol>
<li>I usually work with multiple files at the same time, but in Canvas, only one will ultimately be modified.</li>
<li>The most insidious part - sometimes if ChatGPT struggles with a coding task, I switch from 4o (which is much faster and sufficient 95% of the time) to o3 (which is slower but much better in logic and coding). So if Canvas has automatically turned on somewhere at the top, you can forget about o3; it wonβt activate.</li>
