OpenAI, known for its developments in artificial intelligence, has announced the creation of a new internet search product that will be a direct competitor to Google. This move will intensify competition between the two companies and could change the balance of power in the search engine market.
The service from OpenAI will partially utilize the capabilities of Bing from Microsoft, which may offer users a new search experience online. This announcement followed Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's intention to 'make Google dance' by integrating OpenAI's artificial intelligence technologies into the Bing search engine.
The new search product from OpenAI could not only strengthen competition with Google but also provide users with a faster and more convenient way to search for information online, even though OpenAI's ChatGPT, which uses Bing's index to answer questions, currently cannot match Google in speed.
Interestingly, OpenAI is not the first AI startup trying to change the search engine market. Perplexity, for example, offers a search engine with brief AI-generated answers, which may indicate a new trend in the development of search technologies based on artificial intelligence.
