<p>Radical Self-reliance: Burning Man encourages individuals to discover, develop, and rely on their inner resources. This is another very strong principle that underpins the existence of Burning Man. Even though the playa and the people around you will surely help you in any situation (which was particularly evident during the heavy rain when those stranded in our camp lived comfortably for several days until it was possible to return to their own camp) - you must rely primarily on yourself and consider the consequences of your actions. In fact, this applies not only to physical safety but to everything else as well. For example, you are responsible for your own state and mood, whether you will enjoy yourself, learn something, or not. This is a very useful principle not only for Burning Man but for life in general.</p>
