Worldcoin is a project by Sam Altman (OpenAI) that has just launched in the USA. At first glance, it sounds like science fiction: you approach a metallic orb (Orb), it scans your iris, and issues a World ID—an anonymous proof that you are human, not AI.
Right now, it seems strange. But considering the speed at which AI is developing, the idea seems inevitable: in the future, it will be necessary to prove that you are human. Worldcoin aims to become the infrastructure for this.
What World ID provides:
