I want to share an interesting thought expressed by Elon Musk, that traveling to Mars is insurance for all of humanity. On Earth, we can live long, but there is a chance that our lives could be very short, especially in the case of a pandemic, natural disasters, or other catastrophic events. We buy health insurance to protect ourselves from unforeseen circumstances that could negatively affect our health.
Why not extend this logic and insure our lives as a whole? Exploring space and colonizing Mars may seem like distant and unattainable ideas, but in reality, it is a real opportunity to ensure the continuation of our species in the event of a catastrophe on Earth. If something happens on Earth, people living on Mars will be able to continue surviving in a space environment.
