Renowned AI scientist and blogger Yannic Kilcher, known for his signature black glasses, recently introduced his Open Source AI Assistant, which will compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT. Initially, he criticized OpenAI's closed nature (lack of access to code, scientific publications, and data), but then teamed up with colleagues to create his fully open system.

The project has been in development for the past couple of months, and its success is partly due to the use of RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback) – a technology that allows the system to be fine-tuned based on feedback from real users. Instead of hiring people to evaluate responses, as OpenAI does, Yannic Kilcher enlisted his acquaintances and followers to help train his AI Assistant. By the way, you can also participate in the fine-tuning.

God save Open Source!
