Recently, I moved to a new computer and realized how inconvenient everything is; I have to set everything up again to suit my needs. The keyboard is a bit different in size, etc.
But I really felt that adapting to a new device is a two-way process. On one hand, I make adjustments, set hotkeys, etc., to make it more comfortable for me. On the other hand, my brain is unlearning old sizes, habits, etc., and adapting.
The same thing can be seen in smart prosthetics, where both the AI prosthetic and the human brain adapt to each other.
The same will happen in our merging with AI if evolution goes down the path of cyborgization.
