Not many know, but I collect books. Of course, I especially love signed first editions. In three places across several countries, I have several bookshelves. It's impossible to stop buying.

Despite the fact that this blog has mostly been about AI lately, it was originally intended to write about what interests, inspires, and excites me. Books, obviously, take up a significant part. Someday I'll tell you about my particularly valuable copies, but for now, I want to show you what arrived today.

In general, I love to βrescueβ books by buying used ones at 2-3 (sometimes 5) times cheaper than the original price. Here in the USA, there is also a culture of putting unused items out on the street, and picking them up is a sign not that you are homeless, but that you are giving a second life to things. So, I often βrescueβ unusual copies for my collection this way.

So, from my latest purchases - I saw a book by Jan Frank - Designer-Maniac's Diary in a second-hand store, which I had wanted to buy for a long time. I was super surprised to see a Russian book and immediately grabbed it for $2. The book is interesting, and it has a good section about books she recommends. These are books about illustrations by different artists as a tool for designers for inspiration and visual literacy. In the end, I ordered about 7 from the list, and hereβs one of them that arrived.

Having books in the collection with a selection of cool illustrations is always great, but this one, in particular, also feeds my nostalgia for my homeland.

P.S. It would be cool if you could react to show whether you are interested in hearing about what I read and my thoughts around it.

Collecting Books and New Finds
I collect books and love to 'rescue' them by buying used copies.
