Neural Networks on iPhones: How Will This Affect Battery Life?

<p>At their latest presentation, Apple spent 2 hours discussing how they will run neural networks locally on iPhones. This is why the minimum version for new features will be the iPhone 15 (I must admit, this is a cool move to tackle the challenging task of migrating users from old devices to new models; I still have an iPhone 13), as a powerful processor and plenty of memory are required. What they didn’t mention is what energy source will actually power all this? Are we going back to the days when you had to charge your phone every 2 hours?</p>
<p>Personally, I would prefer to compute everything in the cloud and not drain the battery. I stopped believing in Privacy fairy tales as soon as I enrolled in information security at Bauman Moscow State Technical University.</p>
