When ChatGPT started eating up traffic from Google and Meta, there was an obvious question: what will happen to performance marketing if AI provides people with ready-made answers and bypasses ads? The answer was clear - ChatGPT will become an advertising platform. A small percentage of users pay for the subscription, and mass consumer products almost always come with advertising.

Everything follows a familiar scenario: ad cabinet, pixel, conversion API, reports, optimization, auction. They have already released the JavaScript Pixel, Conversions API, Campaigns/Ad Groups/Ads API, Insights API, and programmatic ad creation with performance monitoring.
Currently, the channel is small and expensive - that's how it always starts. Then there will be more inventory, payment for clicks and conversions, auctions, and all the usual performance mechanics. Only now it's inside ChatGPT.
