π Stanford Professor Discovers βUnexpectedβ Factor of Startup Success
Ilya Strebulaev, a Stanford professor known for his research in startups and venture capital, released an analysis based on a survey of over 500 venture investors. The results highlight that the main factor determining the success or failure of a startup is the dynamics within the team. According to 56% of the surveyed investors, the quality of the team is the foundation of success, while 55% consider it the cause of failures. This underscores the importance of leadership qualities and team unity.
Other factors such as timing, technology, business model, industry, luck, market, and board composition were mentioned much less frequently. This data indicates a consensus among venture capitalists that external and collaborative factors are more important than individual contributions.
